n4ServerInfo and Max Connections

Keywords: n4ServerInfo	n3ServerInfo maxconnections

Question:

What does Maximum number of connections the server will support indicate?

It most certainly does not indicate the maximum number of licensed connections.

Answer:

I dredged up the Novell documentation. Here are what seem to be the relavent bits...
- - -
maxConns
The maximum number of connections the server will support. The connection table for 4.0 is dynamic.
This number will be the maximum of what the table has grown to

- - - -

For NetWare 3.x, all connections are considered licensed. For NetWare 4.x, many connections do not
require a server license

After further going over the documentation, there was no hint as to how to tell how many licensed connections a n4 server will support. This is from the Novell help file, C_APIREF.HLP, Dated 7/25/96.
